SMARTRAC enters strategic partnership with Hanmi IT
PRESS RELEASE SMARTRAC enters strategic partnership with Hanmi IT Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Seoul (Korea), April 9, 2014 – SMARTRAC has announced its co-operation with Korean IT solution provider Hanmi IT. The leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of RFID and NFC products and the IT division of Hanmi Pharmaceutical will jointly develop and market RFID tags and inlays for pharmaceutical and medical businesses throughout the world. “We are very happy about this partnership as it will merge valuable capabilities to better meet the upcoming demand of the markets. Hanmi IT is an experienced IT system integrator with profound background in implementing RFID in drug businesses”, explains Samuli Strömberg, VP Global Segment Development Industry, SMARTRAC. The co-operation will kick off with the Korean government narcotics’ monitoring project, where customized RFID inlays will be used to track small vials and ampules. Hanmi IT is a subsidiary of Hanmi Pharmaceutical group, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Korea, which has been using RFID since 2010. Pharmaceutical and medical goods belong to the most sensitive and supervised product groups worldwide.
