On September 2, 2014, Bayer Healthcare – a subgroup of Bayer AG (Bayer), reported that the Company has completed the divestiture of its Interventional device business to Boston Scientific. As per Bayer, the total consideration for the transaction, including fees for transitional services, is $415 million (c.EUR300 million). Post the divestiture, Bayer HealthCare’s Medical Care division will focus on innovation and growth in Radiology and Diabetes Care, where the Company already has a strong foothold. On the other hand, the acquisition will support Boston Scientific’s strategy to provide a comprehensive range of leading solutions to treat peripheral vascular disease, and greatly benefit its ability to offer physicians and healthcare systems a more complete portfolio of solutions to treat challenging vascular conditions. On September 5, 2014, a news article on BusinessWeek, citing people with knowledge of the matter, reported that Charlie Ergen, Chairman and Co-Founder, Dish Network – U.S. second-largest satellite-TV provider, recently contacted Deutsche Telekom AG (Telekom) expressing his interest in a future acquisition of its T-Mobile US Inc. unit. Dish Network has told Telekom, that it may be interested in a deal after a November auction for wireless airwaves is completed, said the article. On August 29, 2014, a news report on Bloomberg stated that Telekom is ready to negotiate a sale of its T-Mobile US Inc. unit, the fourth-largest wireless carrier in the U.S., provided the offer puts a valuation of a minimum $35 a share to the business.
