Biogas Nord AG: Information to financial results 2012
Biogas Nord AG / Key word(s): Miscellaneous Biogas Nord AG: Information to financial results 2012
Without giving detailed preliminary figures, the overall performance of 2012 was lower than in the fiscal year 2011. The market for the construction of new biogas plants in Germany was clearly behind the already low expectations forecast by the German Biogas Association. Thus in 2012 the revenues from sales in Germany of Biogas Nord AG clearly decreased. Despite the decline of the German biogas industry by nearly 74 percent, the company was able to partly compensate for the decline in sales revenue from Germany with contributions from international business. During the year 2011, the sales revenues that were generated abroad have been EUR 8,8 million (12 % of the total sales), and during 2012 the revenues from abroad increased by more than 300 % to EUR 36 million. Biogas Nord AG is consequently working on its globalization strategy. During 2012 the company has increased its international presence to 14 countries in total, and in 2013 we started additional activities in two more countries. Those activities also are reflected in our current order backlog of EUR 68 million (June 2012: EUR 36 million). The 2012 annual report of Biogas Nord AG is drawn up for the first time in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Because of the changes in the accounting method, the expected release of the financial results will be postponed to the end of July 2013. The Deutsche Börse AG has been informed about of this fact. ‘Within a short time, through the global expansion of Biogas Nord, we were able to compensate for the drop in the sales of biogas plants in Germany. We recognized already in 2011 that the future of the company is primarily focused on the expansion of its international business, as well as on the implementation of innovative and technically advanced power solutions. In the face of the strong order backlog and due to our extremely intense efforts in recent years to reshape Biogas Nord AG so as to become a global player, in 2013 we expect an increase of revenues, a positive result and considerable company growth for the following years.’ said Alexander Rechter, CEO of Biogas Nord AG.
Biogas Nord’s sophisticated plant technology has proven itself throughout the years as durable, flexible and reliable. Its concepts are always adapted to local conditions and coupled with optimized use of efficient, high-grade components.
