Dr. Bernhard Fuhrmann (born 1963), has been Managing Director of Varengold Bank AG since 2013, and is responsible for back office. As Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Corporate Development and IT are included in his portfolio as well as the fields of risk and finance.
Before moving to Varengold, Dr. Bernhard Fuhrmann worked for various banks: Among them as Chief Operating Officer Real Estate at Commerzbank AG and as Head of Risk and Finance at Eurohypo AG and Deutsche Bank AG in Frankfurt/Main and London. He headed the Deutsche Bank AG, among others the project team for Deutsche Bank’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Further stages of his career include Bankgesellschaft Berlin AG and Treveria Asset Management GmbH.
Born in Palatinate, he studied industrial engineering at the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt before moving to the central area of credit/risk management at Bayerische Vereinsbank AG in Munich. There Fuhrmann earned his extra-occupational doctorate in the study of business administration.
Frank Otten (born 1965) has been on the Management Board of Varengold Bank AG since 2013. He is responsible for the market and therefore for the core business areas of Marketplace Banking and Transaction Banking/Commercial Banking. In addition, his duties include monitoring and controlling the bank’s treasury department.
Convinced of the high entrepreneurial potential of the Varengold Bank, Frank Otten works with his board colleague Dr. Bernhard Fuhrmann with great effort to expand the business activities of the bank and to strategically adapt to market conditions. Prior to his appointment as Managing Director of Varengold Bank, Frank Otten worked at HSH Nordbank for many years. Among others, he led the representative office in Tallinn (Estonia) and was responsible for the business in the region Central and Eastern Europe and for managing the credit business/syndications. He also served as Global Head for Financial Institutions.
Frank Otten successfully completed his training as a banker at Landesbank Schleswig-Holstein (later HSH Nordbank) and studied business administration.
