Company profile

MME MOVIEMENT – THE ENTERTAINMENT SPECIALIST
MME MOVIEMENT develops and produces entertainment programmes for German TV channels in the four areas Fiction, Non-Fiction, Documentary and Show/Music. Through its Entertainment division, MME MOVIEMENT serves the programming segment for which German TV broadcasters have by far the greatest demand.

MME MOVIEMENT’s position in the market is characterised by the combination of a stable core business and innovative new productions. With eight daily programmes, two weekly programmes and several series and TV films every year, MME MOVIEMENT, with annual sales of approx. € 88 m in 2005, is the biggest independent TV producer in Germany.

As a studio organisation, MME MOVIEMENT provides the ideal platform for its production subsidiaries:

AllMedia Pictures GmbH, München
filmpool Film- und Fernsehproduktion GmbH, Köln
Lunet Entertainment GmbH, Munich
MME Me, Myself & Eye Entertainment GmbH, Berlin
time2talk entertainment GmbH, Potsdam
white balance GmbH, Hamburg

With eight daily programmes with strong viewing figures, the Group is excellently positioned:

‘Zwei bei Kallwass’, (filmpool for Sat.1)
‘Richterin Barbara Salesch’, (filmpool for Sat.1)
‘Das Familiengericht’, (filmpool for RTL)
‘Das Jugendgericht’, (filmpool for RTL)
‘Niedrig & Kuhnt’, (filmpool for Sat.1)
‘Frank, der Weddingplaner’, (MME for ProSieben)
‘Schmeckt nicht – gibt’s nicht’, (MME for VOX )
‘Das Quiz with Jörg Pilawa’, (white balance in a coproduction with Grundy Light Entertainment for ARD)

Concentrating on the core business
An important strategic focus of MME MOVIEMENT is the development of its core business, TV production, and carefully ensuring the continuing viability of its programme portfolio. The emphasis here is on the development and production of series formats. Series formats, i.e. productions screened daily or weekly, give TV broadcasters the opportunity to attract and keep viewers not only to the programme, but also to the channel itself, creating new viewing habits in the process.

Creating programme brands
In addition, series formats have a brand character – they are “programme brands” which can be used in other areas apart from TV, for example, through merchandising and print products, and videos and DVDs (‘subsidiary rights’). MME MOVIEMENT has already created programme brands with its ‘Schmeckt nicht, gibt’s nicht’, ‘Einsatz in 4 Wänden’, ‘Richterin Barbara Salesch’, ‘Niedrig and Kuhnt’ and ‘Das Star Quiz’ formats.

Products for new digital services
As part of the accelerating fusion of television, telephony and Internet, MME MOVIEMENT is also pursuing the consistent expansion of its programmes with tailored content for new digital services. MME MOVIEMENT was the first German production company to develop and successfully launch two formats for the mobile entertainment market with ‘US 5’ and ‘Niedrig & Kuhnt’.

Globalisation
MME MOVIEMENT is also stepping up its international activities, both in licensing programmes abroad and in the acquisition of new format rights.
