Capital Stage AG acquires first wind park in Denmark
Hamburg, 18 May 2017 – The SDAX-listed Hamburg-based solar and wind park operator Capital Stage will acquire its first wind park in Denmark. The park has a total generation capacity of 15 megawatts (MW) and benefits from a government-guaranteed feed-in tariff for a fixed number of full load hours per MW. The takeover of the first two of five wind turbine generators (WTG) has already been contractually agreed today. The remaining three WTG will be taken over shortly. The WTG have already been taken into operation and were connected to the power grid in early 2016. The total investment including project-related debt financing will amount to approximately EUR 19 million.
The wind park is located in a windy region close to the North Sea, about five kilometres northwest from Ringkøbing. It comprises a total of five V90 WTG built by Danish manufacturer Vestas, each with an output of approximately 3 MW.
The wind park benefits from a government-guaranteed feed-in tariff of approximately EUR 33,5 Euro per megawatt hour which is granted for the first 22,000 full load hours per MW in Denmark. Capital Stage assumes that the wind park will generate revenue contributions in excess of more than EUR 2 million in the first full year of operation. Beneficial transfer of ownership is to take place with retroactive effect from 1 January 2017.
“With Denmark, Capital Stage is already entering the third Nordic market after Sweden and Finland and thereby a particularly windy region with a long tradition in the sector of renewable energies,” says Holger Götze, COO of Capital Stage AG. “Moreover, the number of markets in which we operate increases from seven to eight, which helps to further diversify our portfolio and places our growth on a broader basis,” Götze adds.
Thus, the generation capacity of all wind parks of the Capital Stage Group in this region increases significantly to some 38 MW. In total, the capacity of the Group’s wind park portfolio rises to 525 MW.
