Press Release ————- Rottenmann, January 11,2002
Preliminary turnover rose by 155% in 2001
Company’s forecasted turnover missed despite strong growth
JoWooD Productions Software AG, a company quoted on the Vienna Stock Exchange
announced a rise in their preliminary consolidated group turnover from EUR 16.2
million to about EUR 41 million in business year 2001. The preliminary results
are published prior to an international investors’ conference to be scheduled.
Despite strong growth in the year 2001, the Company failed their ambitious sales
goals by 15%. However, results will be positive, although the company’s
expectations will not be met. The primary reason being the cautious demand –
despite strong advance orders – for the game “World War 3”, whose release was
postponed to October due to global events in September. Furthermore, due to the
acquisition of the German distributor Leisuresoft last summer consolidation
effects have impacted the overall turnover, which will be recovered in 2002.
Based on an extensive release-pipeline of attractive new titles JoWooD is
expecting further significant growth of turnover for the whole business year
2002.
The preliminary results will we published as announced on January 17th, 2002.
