Mai 2001 in Hamburg

tecis still with high growth rate
– revenues in the first quarter increased by 26%
– above-average growth in profit of 64%
– first plans for 2003 presented
– dividend for 2000 probably DM 0.42
The financial service provider tecis Holding AG has continued its high growth
in the first three months of 2001 and enhanced its growth forecasts for 2001 to
2003. In the first quarter 2001 commission revenues for the tecis group
increased by 26% compared to the first quarter 2000 to reach DM 32.7 m (DM
26.0 m). Above all the growth motor proved to be the financial sales division
at tecis Finanzdienstleistungen AG which concentrates on the financial planning
for households with an average income. Altogether, the commission results for
the tecis group increased by 52 % to DM 14.0 m (DM 9.2 m) with the annual profit
even increasing by 64 % to DM 2.3 m (DM 1.4 m). This shows that in its core
business, tecis is essentially independent of the current difficult stock market
situation, because tecis’ customers see investment funds and in particular the
primarily brokered investment saving plans as a long-term investment. 16 new
agencies were opened in the first quarter of 2001 (until end of March). By the
end of the year, tecis aims at expanding its sales network by altogether 47 to
140 branch offices. This means that tecis is right in the middle of its planned
growth path for the years to come. In this current year, revenues should grow by
34% to DM160 m and annual profits by 60% to DM12.5 m. For the year 2002,
revenues are expected to grow by 31% to DM 210 m with a 76% increase in annual
profits to DM 22 m. Following these years of turbulent growth, initial plans
for the year 2003 anticipate an increase in revenues between 21 and 26% with
an increase of 23 to 30% in annual profit. As already reported on February
13, 2001, tecis plans a temporary increase in investment for the years 2001 and
2002. This will be limited to altogether DM 16m with a total of DM 13m flowing
into IT, to facilitate among others the introduction of fully automated
Internet-based handling of the entire consultation process. As from 2004, this
will produce a savings volume of at least DM 7 – 8 m p.a. Additional investment
in training and further education will amount to altogether DM 3m to relieve the
pressure on local agency managers, thus also providing concrete support here too
for the growth in revenues.
Successful business year 2000
In 2000, group revenues were increased by 25% to DM119.2 m (DM 95.5 m last
year). Commissions results increased even more than revenues by 32% to DM 48.8
m (DM 37.1m last year). The consolidated annual profit, which is identical with
the DVFA* result, increased by 28% to DM 7.6 m (DM 6.1m last year). Altogether
the pre-tax profit on sales in the group amounted to 14% (12.6% last year). At
the annual general meeting on May 31, 2001, in Hamburg, the board at tecis
Holding AG will be proposing to pay a dividend of DM 0.42 (0.35 last year) which
is an increase of 20%. This is subject to the approval of the supervisory board.
The complete annual financial report will be presented by the company tomorrow,
Friday, at a press conference for the financial statement at 10 a.m. in Hotel
Steigenberger/Hamburg, and at 4.30 p.m. in Frankfurt at a DVFA* analyst
conference in Frankfurter Hof.
