Internationalmedia schließt First Look Deal mit Mark Johnson
Productions
Los Angeles (28. Juni 2000) – Durch den Abschluss eines exklusiven
First Look Deals mit Mark Johnson Productions sichert sich die
Internationalmedia-Gruppe langfristig die weltweiten Rechte an den
Filmen dieser Produktionsgesellschaft über alle Verwertungsstufen.
Dadurch setzt Internationalmedia die zum Börsengang angekündigte
Strategie der Expansion durch Allianzen mit hervorragenden Produzenten
in die Tat um.
Mark Johnson gehört zu den erfolgreichsten Produzenten in Hollywood,
dessen Filme bereits 7 Oscars gewonnen haben und für weitere 21 Oscars
nominiert waren. Zuletzt hatte Mark Johnson einen 3-jährigen
Produzentendeal mit Steven Spielbergs Dream Works Studios. In dieser
Zeit hat er insgesamt 7 Spielfilme realisiert. Aus der Zusammenarbeit
mit Mark Johnson erwartet Internationalmedia ebenfalls etwa zwei große
Spielfilme pro Jahr zu generieren.
Zu seinen größten Erfolgen zählen u.a. der diesjährige Hit “Galaxy
Quest” mit Sigourney Weaver, der in den USA über 70 Millionen Dollar
einspielte, Oscar-Gewinner “Rain Man” mit Tom Cruise und Dustin
Hoffman, “Bugsy” (Warren Beatty, Annette Bening und Harvey Keitel),
“Good Morning Vietnam” (Robin Williams) und “Donnie Brasco” (Al Pacino
und Johnny Depp). Dieses Jahr werden noch die Filme “An Everlasting
Piece” von Barry Levinson, mit Billy Connolly und “What Lies Beneath”
von Robert Zemeckis, mit Harrison Ford und Michelle Pfeiffer in die
Kinos kommen.

Internationalmedia closes first look deal with Mark Johnson Productions
Los Angeles (28. June 2000) – Internationalmedia Group has closed an
exclusive first-look deal with Mark Johnson Productions, securing the
worldwide and long-term rights on all films. Upon launching their
flotation on May 18, 2000, Internationalmedia announced it would pursue
a vigorous expansion strategy through closing deals with high-profile
producers.
With 7 Academy Awards and 21 nominations to his name, Mark Johnson is
one of Hollywood’s most successful film producers. Prior to joining
Internationalmedia, he had a three-year deal with Steven Spielberg’s
Dream Works Studios, during which he produced 7 films.
Internationalmedia and Johnson anticipate that their arrangement will
yield 6 major films over the next three years.
His production credits include features like this years hit “Galaxy
Quest”, starring Sigourney Weaver which took over $70m in the US: the
