buecher.de erzielt im 1. Quartal positiven Gesamtertrag
– Umsätze steigen in 1/2000 um 460 Prozent gegenüber Vorjahreszeitraum

München, 26. Mai 2000 – buecher.de, die Nummer 2 im deutschen Online
Buch- und Musikhandel, erzielt im ersten Quartal 2000 enorme
Umsatzsteigerungen und schreibt im gesamten Konzern erstmals schwarze
Zahlen.
Der Umsatz von buecher.de liegt im ersten Quartal des Geschäftsjahrs
2000 mit 7,8 Millionen Mark um 460 Prozent höher als im
Vergleichszeitraum des Vorjahrs. Damit erreicht buecher.de bereits im
ersten Quartal 2000 fast die Hälfte des Jahresumsatzes von 1999 (16,4
Millionen Mark). Nach diesem furiosen Start erhöhte die buecher.de AG
ihre Umsatz-Planzahl für das Geschäftsjahr 2000 um über 20 Prozent auf
45 Millionen Mark.
Zu den Umsatzsteigerungen aus dem operativen Geschäft kommt erstmals
ein positiver Ertrag in Höhe der außergewöhnlich positive Ertrag von
3,7 Millionen Mark. Er setzt sich zusammen aus einem Anlagegewinn von
9,5 Millionen Mark und einem operativen Verlust von 5,8 Millionen Mark.
Denn im Sinne des Shareholder Value legt buecher.de einen Teil noch
nicht investierter Finanzmittel aus dem Börsengang in einem
Spezialfonds bei einer renommierten und erfolgreichen deutschen
Kapitalanlagegesellschaft an. Das ausgezeichnete Fondsergebnis trägt so
im ersten Quartal 2000 zu einem Gewinn im Gesamtkonzern bei.
Die Mittel des Fonds sind für künftige Investitionen und Akquisitionen
schnell abrufbar. Bereits in den nächsten Monaten will buecher.de
weitere erfolgversprechende Unternehmen im In- und Ausland akquirieren.
Durch die gute Liquidität des Unternehmens ist die Zukunft von
buecher.de auf lange Zeit gesichert. Den Break Even im operativen
Geschäft erwartet buecher.de für das Geschäftsjahr 2002. Mit seiner
Umsatzentwicklung konnte buecher.de die beim Börsengang angekündigten
Planzahlen übertreffen und liegt zudem genau im Zeitplan für den
angekündigten Break Even.

Munich, 26 May 2000 – buecher.de, the number 2 in the German online
book und music trade achieves enormous sales increases in the first
quarter of 2000 and for the first time writes results in the black in
the total group.
With DM 7.8 mio, the sales of bucher.de outperformed the comparable
period of the previous year by 460 per cent in the first quarter of the
fiscal year 2000. buecher.de thus achieved nearly half the annual sales
of 1999 (DM 16.4 mio) in the first quarter of 2000 already. After this
sensational start, buecher.de AG increased its sales target for the
fiscal year 2000 by more than 20 per cent to DM 45 mio.
Added to the sales increases from the operative business, the company
records an positive revenue of DM 3.7 mio. for the first time. It is
composed of an investment profit of DM 9.5 mio and an operative loss of
DM 5.8 mio. For, in the interest of the shareholder value, buecher.de
is investing part of the financial means that were raised in going
public and have not yet been invested in a special fund with a renowned
and successful German capital investment company. The excellent result
of the fund thus contributes to a profit in the total group in the
first quarter of 2000.
These financial means are rapidly available for future investments and
acquisitions. In the next months already, buecher.de intends to acquire
further promising companies in Germany and abroad. Thanks to the good
liquidity of the company the future of buecher.de is guaranteed for a
long time. buecher.de expects to reach the break-even point in the
operative business in the business year 2002. With its increase of
sales buecher.de exceed the expected figures announced at IPO.
